In May of 2021, Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center was able to mark Survivors’ Day at its brand new cancer center. Covid still precluded us from holding an in-person event, so I worked with the cancer care team as well as OhioHealth marketing specialists to create a parade-style drive-through event. The staff was there to hand a potted purple flower with a special ribbon to each survivor who drove through.
I coordinated with the local newspaper to have someone on hand, and he took the photos with my direction and also conducted the interviews. It was an event and a resulting article I am very proud of.
