Crafting for a Cause is working on a Warm up America drive. We are making squares and one of our members has volunteered to sew the squares together in order to make full afghans. This is my first batch of squares.
My first afghan of 2007! Victory Junction Gang Camp is a really neat place for children who are ill or under privileged. After lots of fun at the camp, each child is sent home with a homemade afghan and a homemade teddy bear. This afghan hasn’t been shipped quite yet, but it will be soon.
Afghans for Afghans is an amazing charity that was founded shortly after 9/11. I made a few hats for them last year before Crafting for a Cause got started.
Earlier this year, they had a big hat drive for Afghan children, and I was able to finish these 5 blue hats, all in 100% wool.
As the year progresses, I will be working on “fun scarves” that I’m going to donate en masse to a local homeless women’s shelter. I figure these women could use trendy, pretty, cheerful accessories. This was the first batch of 5 that I completed.
