Two more bags for the Haiti orphanage:
Crafts and Charity
These are bags that I am going to fill with 5 items each and then send on to God’s Littlest Angels, an orphanage in Haiti that has requested goods in addition to money. Because the bags will be sent to Colorado first rather than straight to Haiti, I am not worried about adding to the current “traffic” problem in and around Haiti. I figure they will send things over when it’s easier to do so.
I’m going to fill the bags with: a bar of soap, a small container of hand sanitizer, infant tylenol, infant vitamins, and a small toy. Hopefully the kids will be able to keep the bags too, or maybe they could come in handy for the caregivers. Im trying to make them in the colors of the Haiti flag.
I’m gearing up for a project that I’m pretty excited about. I tried to do this earlier this year, but my goals were too outrageous and it wasn’t planned enough. So here is the deal.
My project is called Crafting Against Cancer and Diabetes. My goal is to make 200 items for charity in 2010 (I made around 100 this year). If you think I can do it, sign on to be a pledger, and if I do succeed, I am asking that folks donate $25 to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. If you agree to pledge, I will make an item for a charity of your choice in your honor.
I am really excited about the prospect of raising funds for 2 causes close to my heart while continuing to make items for other charities I care about. I am hoping other crafters join me and get pledges of their own too because that would be really fun 🙂
I’ll keep things updated here so if you are interested in following along, well, this is the place to do it! Woohoo! 🙂
