Last week, I decided to try something new – Vlogging. I got a comment that was not very nice, and I let it convince me that maybe this big new thing was simply not for me.
A week later, the words of many friends resonated. I remembered one important lesson that I need to share with you – if you want to do something, don’t let anyone, including yourself, throw you off course.
I was wondering why that video went away! Who the hell cares what someone says? If they don’t like what you say or how you say it, they can just move along. There are plenty of us out here who think you’re pretty smart about a lot of things, however you choose to say it.
I am gong to complain that you don’t smile enough in your videos. Shouldn’t have to wait until the end to see your smile. 🙂
Well this was serious Margie. Perhaps in future videos I will be slightly more goofy Margie. There’s just no way of knowing! 🙂
Marjorie:
This is fantastic. Tremendous message, perfectly communicated.
As is also the case with your written blog entries & Twitter feed, this vlog is powerful because of both what you say & how you say it.
Thanks so much for making & posting this. This is going to resonate with a lot of folks — all of whom will be better because of it.
Thanks so much, Hugh. I really appreciate that 🙂
Ok wait- so there was a video last week, and I missed it? As someone who has just interacted with you in the social media-sphere through the written word, I was super excited to see you live in- person! YAY- I’m glad you did another video!
This is a great message. I don’t think there are many people out there that do things right/perfectly the first time out. We gotta get good- we rarely start there so you can’t let other people’s feedback get in the way of what you are doing. Don’t quit- maybe tweak- but keep going. So thanks for the reminder.
I agree with Rufus- you didn’t smile until the end and it was nice to see. 🙂
Thanks Christy. You are so right! I appreciate the support and kind words 🙂
Margie,
Screw the detractors. Stick to your guns woman!
