Change is in the air

August 29, 2011 by Margie Clayman 17 Comments

My friend Janice, who I was going to post an interview with as part of the August series, has been waylaid by some personal issues, so I have a spare spot here on the calendar. As it happens, I have some news items that will fit here just splendidly πŸ™‚

As some of you may have heard, this weekend I officially stepped into the position of community manager at www.12most.com, a fantastic blog site that I’ve had the opportunity to guest post for over the last few months. Now, this is not a new job. I am still very much the Director of Client Development at Clayman Advertising. This is a very involved hobby!

Because I can’t seem to get the powers that be to work with me in adding more hours to the day, though, something does have to give as I take on this massive new responsibility. The answer seemed pretty clear – my blogging is going to have to slow down a bit. I will be working full throttle to promote other peoples’ posts and my blogging will become a second priority.

Starting next week, September 5, I’m going to be posting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings here on my site. I’ll be inviting guest posters to join me on Tuesday and Thursdays so you can still have fun things to read here every week. Weekends will be a bit of a grab bag.

I am going to continue my work on The Blog Library as well, which goes right along with the “promoting other peoples’ content” thang I have going on here.

Otherwise, everything is exactly the same! I have not told my television about these developments yet so please do not scare it. I am telling it that we will still bond a semi-regular basis.

Any questions? Concerns? Let me know!

Margie – I love the new focus on guest posts. When we chatted about the 12 Most CM position and you mentioned scaling back on blogging, I didn’t realize you had plans to fold others into the blog experience over here. I’m thrilled and hope to some day write a guest post or two for you, provided you’ll have me of course.

      Well…..if I have to….

I always have a plan or two up my sleeve. That is the side benefit of planning everything six months in advance πŸ™‚

I’m telling you, new scientific studies have shown sleep is highly overrated. In fact, I recall a Superman comic episode where he could sleep w/ one eye closed and the other open to allow him to read and still be aware. So, if you are Superwoman then the logical conclusion is you should be able to do the same, right?

I look forward to the new direction as I’m sure it will be great. Your fingerprints are already all over the place so why should this be any different, huh?

    Good luck to you.

Scientists may say sleep is overrated, but I LOVE sleep, gosh darn it. I just cain’t quit it. Well, I can, but it ends up ugly for all parties involved. Very much a happier soul when I get my 7-8 hours in πŸ™‚

      Thanks, Bill!

Thanks, friend. I think everyone these days is doing more than they really feel comfortable with. I’m just one in a million in that regard πŸ™‚

Thanks Marcus! I seriously doubt that though. I know how hard everyone works. I just may complain about it more πŸ˜‰
